Love Knots Rings

Robert asks…

Is it tacky to have a wedding with no bridesmaids and groomsmen?

My fiance and I chose close family and friends to be our bridesmaids and groomsmen but we realized that some of them are unrealiable and we dont want the headache of wondering if everyone will get their wedding attire and if everyone will show up on time. I know my maid of honor and his best man will so we are thinking about having a matron of honor, best man, flower girl and ring bearer for our wedding party. Everyone else will just be invited to attend.

LoveKnots answers:

No, that’s not tacky at all. A wedding isn’t about being fashionable, it’s about joining two people who love each other together. Unfortunately, weddings are so stressful on the happy couple that the marriage starts to crack before it can even start. You and your fiance are wise to follow the KISS (Keep It Simple, Sweetie) principle.

My husband and I kept it simple when we married. We tied the knot in the house we were renting from my uncle and our wedding party consisted of the maid of honor (my cousin), the best man (my brother), the flower girl (another cousin) and the preacher performing the ceremony (my father). My cousin made the wedding cake, my aunt decorated, my mother and grandmother coordinated the wedding, two of my uncles provided the music, took video and still pictures. It was memorable and beautiful. Now, five years later, I can look back on it and say that I honestly didn’t have much stress.

Best of luck to you and your fiance! May your marriage be happy and last all of your lives.

David asks…

What are you asking for for Christmas?

I already know some stuff that I want, but my mom likes to have a big list to look at so what were you thinking about getting? I’m a teenage girl and I’m asking for Uggs, moccasins, and iPhone, a backpack, sting lights for my room, and other little things. I don’t know what else I really want. Is there any shoes that you would suggest for me? Or cool gift ideas? Websites with cute clothes would be good too :)

LoveKnots answers:

Here’s what I am asking for (from parents and basically entire family)

Donna asks…

Can someone help me with my tattoo idea?

So I recently got my first tattoo, it is the Irish trinity knot. I got this done because my Auntie gave me a ring with that symbol and when she gave it to me, she explained how the rings on it never ended just like love never ends. My Aunt passed away a few months ago and I love the idea that love never ends which is why I got my tattoo. So, I want to put words on the bottom. Should I put “Auntie” under it or should I put her birthdate (without the death date to go along with the “love never ends” theme) or should I put “love never ends” under it. Ten points to most helpful. Thank you guys in advanced :)

LoveKnots answers:

“Love never ends” would look better in my opinion. You could ask for some nice lettering and i feel like it adds to her memory because that is the message she told you when she gave you the ring and also your love for her will never end. Hope it turns out great! :)

Chris asks…

Can you describe Mercutio’s speech of Queen Mab [from "Romeo and Juliet"] in simpler words?

I’ll need to draw a picture relating to this speech, but it would be easier if I understood more clearly the details it. So could you tell me what it says, but with words I would understand? Thank you!

LoveKnots answers:

That is my favorite quote. I remember parts of it since I memorized it in high school.

Queen Mab is the fairy queen that brings dreams to you in your sleep and a midwife (delivers babies) for faeries.

She is tiny, no bigger than the gem in a priest’s ring. She rides a carriage drawn by insects whose collars are moonbeams, the driver is a gnat, the wheels’ spokes are made from spiders’ legs, the roof of the carriage from grasshopper wings, the carriage body is an emptied out hazelnut shell, the reins are spiders’ webs, the handle of her whip from cricket bone, and the whip itself from spider web.

So in this tiny rig she gallops over sleeping people, and depending on their obsession causes them to dream of the thing they are obsessed with…
Lover = love
courtier’s knee = curtsies
lawyer’s finger = legal fees
lady’s lips = kisses
courtier”s nose = sniffing out a petition to make money/favor
tickle a priest’s nose with a pig’s tail = church contributions
soldier’s neck = cutting throats

She is also responsible for the knots in horses’ manes and peoples hair, and she is the pressure you feel on your chest when sleeping.

Helen asks…

I’m looking to find a place that does custom titanium rings.?

I’d like a black titanium ring with a celtic knot all the way around. The symbol is celtic symbol for everlasting love (serch bythol).

LoveKnots answers: There are a few ring makers on there, check out Zoe and Doyle.
