Love Knot Necklace Meaning

Lisa asks…

Did you wear a peace medallion, a Victorian velvet ribbon around your neck, or love beads when you were young?

For the fellas, did you wear an Italian horn gold chain?
Liz – I forgot all about the puka shells, lol

LoveKnots answers:

Oh the many sizes of the puka shells. From chokers to ones you could wrap aroung you at least five times. Ones added to Macrame knotted worry bead necklaces. The wild painted VW Vans. Those are the good memories, then there are the ones I remember, it being suggested that we wear civilan clothes on the planes when we were headed home from the military. Making us feel like we were the bad guys. Go talk to the guys that were in Washington. We followed orders because we were sworn to do so. My job at the time was state side and it had gotton so bad anyone living off the base would normally not change into uniform until they got on the base. Even kids repeating things they heard from their parents. I was called a baby killer, a murderer, spat at, and it was done by a child about 10 or 11, and I am a female Vet, not allowed in the combat zones unless you were medical personel. I know it wasn’t me personally, but it hurt just as bad, I saw guys wearing their uniforms on the planes coming home crying because of the actions of his fellow Americans toward him. Had he not had enough heeped on his shoulders and mind? The nightmares, the sounds of a car backfiring and their first instinct is to duck. My neighbor had a table in the corner of his bed room, a chopper would go over in the night and he’d find himself waking under the table curled in as small a ball as he could do with an leg with shrapinal in it That happenss less and less as time passes, but you never lose the internal nerve that reacts to any sound like a gun shot. My step son loved animals so he was assigned a dog. In a ambush the dog took the shot that was meant for him. For years he couldn’t look at Shepards without at least tearing up. They wore ribbons around their necks, ones for the wounds recieved. Ones for bravery above and beyond the call of duty, they were given ones for marksman, awarded a metal for being one proficent enough to be a good killer. But they were worn with pride because the military was telling you your doing a good jub solider. Your important to the freedoms our country has, then to be condeemed by those same folks yeah it is painful painful today, I wonder if they have any records of how many Nam vets killed themselves. Oh man I have got to stop, it will keep me awake if I get to angry at how we were treated I won’t sleep well. And you don’t deserve all this dumped on you because of one question. Sorry about that, but we still need to get the message out. We have walking wounded, many with minds so far gone that it’s reflexes that keep him moving.

Daniel asks…

What do you think about gifts of diamonds?

My boyfriend of 8 months got me a Hercules knot design necklace with a diamond in the center.

I looked up the meaning, and it says it represents the strength of love. However, we haven’t said I love you to each other.

Anyways, maybe your guess is as good as mine. Just wondering if he picked it out because he thought I’d like it, or because he actually knew what it meant?

And…I’ve never had a boyfriend who gave me something with diamonds. Is that a big deal for a guy to do that? Because I feel pretty adored. :)

LoveKnots answers:

That means he wants to continue what you have, it doesn’t necessarily mean that he loves you. Just accept the gift and continue what you have going on with the guy. Don’t force him to say I love you and please don’t tell him what it means. He might just want to buy you something nice. Good Luck
