Love Knot Necklace

Mandy asks…

Which Tiffany & Co Necklace Should I Choose?

So it’s my birthday on the 10th of April and my dad is going to Dubai (Where I started living in about a year ago) to see me and my mum and my newly born step sister. I was on Skype with him last night and he said he got me a Cartier watch and he wanted me to choose a Tiffany & Co necklace since i’m turning 17.

I just want you to know that I am not bragging and I am proud and appreciate what my family is working for to make money and I design clothes so we work for this money and we feel blessed by god and Jesus.

Here are the links of the necklaces:

Ruth asks…

Does this really symbolize luck?

So the other day I was at this older type shop, and I bought a necklace that looked a bit like this: http://static.artfire.com/admin/product_images/thumbs/–90000–86687_product_1941319851_thumb_large.jpg

Supposedly it’s the Celtic knot meaning luck, but I can’t seem to find anything about it online. The necklace was only like $5 and looks cool, so I don’t really care if that’s not what it means; I’m just curious.

LoveKnots answers:

“There are no known authentic knotwork designs meaning love or loyalty or sisterhood or an of the other common meanings ascribed to the designs. While many of the ancient designs certainly had some spiritually significant meaning, these have largely been lost to the ages, and can only be guessed at. The continual looping of the designs suggests themes of eternity and interconnectedness, and knots may have been made at one time to foil evil spirits. ”

“A general rule of thumb is: the shape of the design often determines the “meaning” of a knotwork design- triskele and trefoil shapes should be regarded as triskeles, bird, fish, and animal designs represent the attributes of the animal, etc. Circles represent unity or eternity, spirals reincarnation or cycles of life and rebirth, triangles and trefoils the threefold dominions of earth, sea, and sky. Squares or four-fold shapes are shield knots, symbols of protection from spirits or malevolent influence. Interlaced animals and men usually represent relationships, or emphasize the interdependence of mankind and nature. ”

Although the meaning is somewhat invented it means eternal protection which is pretty much the same as saying luck

2nd Birthday party HOW TO ENTERTAIN THEM?

My SON IS TURNING 2 AND i WANT TO HAVE A PARTY BUT MONEY IS TIGHT AND ITS ONLY 8 KIDS WHAT ARE SOMETHINGS I CAN DO TO ENTERTAIN THEM AND IS A CLOWN REALLY NEEDED IT GOING TO BE FOR 2HRS AT MY HOME.
Thanks everyone and we are in Ny is cold outside for the pool

LoveKnots answers:

No, unless you have a family member that is a clown, it’s not needed
At two, some children are afraid of clowns

Fruit loops or Cheerios, yarn, masking tape
Put the fruit loops or Cheerios or both in bowls
Take yarn, cut about 24 to 36 inches
Put masking tape on one end like a needle, and knot the other end big
Help the children make necklaces that they can eat
At two, some parents will stay and help
This is a very easy and cheap thing to do, and with help the kids will love it

You can play games with them
Ring a round the Rosy
A tape of head, shoulder, knees and toes
Things like this

Bubbles, inside are okay, they are very entertaining for that age

you can make cup cakes and let the children put things on
This will be things easy for a two year old to eat and put on

At two, you really do not need much to entertain them
They will enjoy what you do

What style of dress would go with my personality?

I love rock. I like the color black. I like to dress fashionable but not too girly. Im quiet but Im not afraid to take risk with I wear and dont care what people think. Im learning how to skate board. I also.like alternative music like nevershoutnever. I love skinnys n graphic tees.DC nd converse.r beast. Most of my clothes r dark. Tell me what my style is or make me an outfit on polyvore please?

LoveKnots answers:

Alternative.

I’d look for clothes with industrial looking embellishments, zippers, etc. Or perhaps an asymmetrical cut! I’ve picked a few options in various price ranges that are edgy, and pretty fashionable =D

http://abcfamily.go.com/shows/lying-game/photos-details/lying-game-sneak-peek-never-have-i-ever/860604/lying-game-sneak-peek-never-have-i-ever/860604/860509

i make my own jewerly and i saw this necklace and fell in love it kinda looks like washers but im not sure. does anyone know how to make it?? THANK YOU :)
i think they might be machine screw nuts

LoveKnots answers:

It does kinda look like washers almost. I would just get some black string( or whatever you want to use) and make a knot, slip on the washer, and then every so often repeat that process.

Chris asks…

Prom Coming Up. Advice?

My dress is peacock. Here it is. It is strapless. Peacock. Its a Tony Bowls. I have long dark hair, its violet/red hair. Anyways, it looks pretty sweet with my dress. I have no necklace. Hair up or down?

LoveKnots answers:

Your dress sounds really awesome!!! I love peacock print! :) And you sound like you have pretty hair too, haha :)

As for your hair, I think you should wear it half up, half down. For the hair thats down, wear it straight, which a slight wave. With the hair thats up, you can you a Pollyanna Knot. Its a pretty hairstyle, just look up “Pollyanna Knot” on Google images. Yes, it may look very simple, but it’s very elegant, it would compliment your dress.

To add to the “WOW” factor, add some clip in feather hair extentions. You will look HOT! :D

Anyways, good luck! Hope I helped!!!! Have fun at your prom!!! :D

-Sophie :)
