Love Knots for everyone…

Love Knot Bracelet

George asks…

What do you think of this outfit? Is it suitable?

My fiance and I are going to an my friend’s gallery opening tomorrow evening, and I am presenting some work there myself. It’s not a traditional gallery, it is modern and features alternative artists and photographers. I tend to dress kind of edgy and rock chic like. I normally wear leather jackets, really skinny jeans, boot, heels, etc. What do you think of this outfit? Will it look odd or make me look tarty?

Jacket: might wear my dark grey leather jacket on top but take it off when I get there and put it in the clock room.

I was thinking of stacking some silver bracelets up one of my arms. I was thinking of doing a dark grey smokey eye and a lip colour lipstick with flawless looking skin and putting my hair up in a top knot.
If the link for the shoes doesn’t work, try this one.

LoveKnots answers:

Ok this is just my opinion.. But i think you should put a light grey belt with the dress, to break it up and contrast?
I can’t look at the shoes you picked cause the link doesn’t work on my phone.. But a pair of small heels in black or grey, but the ones that are like ankle boots?
I love the bag, it adds a splash of colour!
As for the jacket, i think it may be too much leather? How about a waist length silver/grey jacket, to match the shoes and belt.
And lots of bangles is always a great idea! Adds abit of your edgy / rock chick look!

But again, just my opinion :)

Steven asks…

Is it ADD/ADHD or am I just lazy/stupid?

The past few years and especially lately I’ve noticed that I show many signs of having ADD. I’m almost 15 and just started my freshman year of high school and I’ve started recognizing these signs since I was about 12. Here are some symptoms I believe to be experiencing:

1. I often forget about homework assignments, projects, chores, and basically any task that needs to be completed. Even when I do remember I have an assignment or project due, I simply cannot bring myself to get started on it. By the time I start (if I even do it) it’s usually right before it’s due. Also when I read something it just goes in one year and right out the other. I can’t retain the information unless I’m very interested in it. I can also never finish something I’ve started and I often change what I’m doing because I’m bored with it. Needless to say, I love change. It won’t be more than a week before I get bored of the current picture for my Facebook profile, my favorite color, or even the way I do my makeup.

2. When I’m in class, I tend to space out and start doodling randomly in my notebooks, on my desk, or on my hands. Even when I try to focus I get bored quickly and I start day dreaming. It makes it really difficult to take notes in class and listen to lectures or instructions while they’re being given. I also loose my train of thought a lot. I can only concentrate on homework or cleaning if I’m watching TV or listening to music. For some reason having more than one thing going on makes it easier to focus on something else. Maybe I’m just weird that way. I don’t know…

3. Everything of mine is always in a jumble. My rooms almost always has clothes, books, notebooks, papers, and cups everywhere. My backpack has to be organized every other day because there are old, crumpled papers and used pencils everywhere. I’ve tried using binders with dividers or folders to keep it in place, but it never works!

4. When I’m told to do something, let’s say for example my dad asks me to get him a tissue, I will walk into the bathroom and completely forget what I was supposed to do. This happens to me nearly five times a day. I will be told right to my face something and have no idea what they just said.

5. I’m over-emotional, irritable, and I overreact about everything. I tend to snap at people and get angry or sad easily. Because of that I’ve punched walls, hurt people, and/or myself. I can’t control my emotions at all. I can go from being happy and excited to being annoyed and angry in a matter of seconds. I just can’t help it. My family constantly calls me moody and a b!.tch. Around last year, I started getting depressed and sometimes I still struggle with it.

6. When I have something to say I won’t shut up about it. In a conversation I’m almost always the one talking. It’s even worse when I’m excited about something and I have to tell my best friend. I might even repeat to her the same things I’ve already said.

7. I will tap my fingers, peel the nail polish off my fingers, doodle on things, hum, sing, dance, play with the buttons on my shirt, twist my hair, play with a bracelet, and knot my ponytails while I’m doing something because I get distracted so easily.

I used to get good grades (A’s and B’s) the past year my grades have continually gotten worse. My last report card I got five C’s, an A and a B. This semester I’m even starting to fail a few classes. I know transitioning into high school is hard and that I have to adapt to more homework, studying, and work, but I’ve tried and nothing is helping. I used to be able to pass tests without studying and doing homework, but now it’s becoming harder and harder and I don’t know what to do. I told my parents I think I have ADD, but they said that it’s just me being lazy and stupid. They even tried to tell me that ADD or ADHD is “fake” and only an excuse for being stupid.

LoveKnots answers:

I don’t think its ADD.
I DO think it is ADHD.

A lot of schools can test on campus but not prescribe medicine.

And be careful with the medicine if you do get it. It is strong and will may even make you sleep. The person I know used adderall and only took exactly half of what he was told to take. (He told me thethe people (doctors or who ever) always over prescribe the dose. He said they do that cause the patients sell it and tell the doctors that the regular dose itnt high enough. That way they get more pills to sell. In fact he ended up having to keep it locked up cause his friends would try to steal it if they came over to visit.

Off subject . Any way – yes ADHD, school may offer free testing, and only use half the dose unless you want to sleep in school, and hide it from friends/family to keep them from stealing it.

Last-its ok if your doctor finds out you only take half. Just say that it does help and you use it as prescribed in all the other ways, its just that you don’t need that much of a dose. Cause really, he was like zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz all through class.
